How do you replace yourself as the CEO of your start-up ?

Imagine having a child, raising him until five years of age and then realising or being told that you are not the most qualified parent to nurture him further. Your child needs a foster parent. Accept this verdict and help in the transition process or you will put his future at risk…

I recognize that a start-up and a child are different but the feeling of not being able to shape their future beyond a certain point will not be pleasant. To relinquish control of the day-to-day running of the business you founded is one of the toughest decisions to take even if deep inside you know it is in the best interest of the company.

So how do you replace yourself?
